a year of living unJewishly

(countdown to 2011)

For the next year, beginning 2011, I will lead a parallel life.  As a newly ordained rabbi, I will spend this next year, the secular year, living unJewishly.  It will be a year of probing, seeking, being, and experimental-practicing as I search for spiritual and ritual truths through every religion but my own.

I will reflect upon these practices through writing, photography, spoken word, blogging, video, recordings and song.

The objective of this exercise is to deepen my understanding of what it means to be Jewish in an unJewish world.  Each entry will reflect upon this, and draw parallels or paradoxes between and amongst different faith practices.
